Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology (Ref.: 201701654)Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychology, to commence on September 1, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

The Department of Psychology was founded in 1968 and was the first department of psychology in Hong Kong. The pioneer spirit continues to push the Department to strive for excellence and break new grounds. The Department is represented by 22 faculty members with different areas of expertise, including cognitive psychology, clinical psychology and neuropsychology, educational and developmental psychology, as well as personality and social psychology. In each area, faculty members apply scientific methods in laboratories or field settings. Further Information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.psychology.hku.hk.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology, and a good record of research and teaching, or sound indicators of promise as a teacher in clinical psychology. Clinical experiences that can inform their teaching will be an asset. The appointee is expected to maintain an active research programme, and be responsible for teaching courses at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels, and supervising research students. A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
