Job Details
The traditional golf lesson which many golfers have experience usually involves the delivery of an amount of technical knowledge by the golf coach. This may include verbal instructions, physical demonstrations, the use of video and training aids and drills. Yet many of these coaching preferences are not always appropriate for the the golfer as a learner seeking retention of skilled movement. This research project will explore questions relating to golfers' experiences of their lessons; what typically happens in a lesson? How does lesson content relate to what we know about learning and refining movements? It will seek to guidance that can be used by golf coaches when considering their practice.
