Investigator in Agrarian and/or Environmental Modelling

Job Details

The Researcher will provide support to research units in ongoing scientific and technical studies for the modelling of agrarian and environmental systems. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with scientists spanning the fields of plant and animal science, environmental research and climate change studies, to develop and apply existing modelling programs. 

Full-time position based in the Basque Country (Spain), initially for a period of five (5) years, subject to six (6) months’ probation period, intended to become a permanent position once the candidate has proven her/his suitability for the position. Technical competencies:
  • PhD degree with strong expertise in agrarian and/or environmental modelling.
  • Proven understanding of agrarian and/or environmental concepts and applications.
  • At least five years of postdoctoral experience in the abovementioned fields.
  • Very good command of English language.
  • Experience in computer programming.

Role competencies:

  • Ability to communicate and work with research teams.
  • Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Good supervising and teaching skills.
  • Willing to participate in national and international meetings.
  • Excellent writing skills.
