Job Purpose

To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking research on an MRC project grant studying the role of senescence in immune cell recruitment to the liver.

 

Person Specification

  • First degree in Immunology or Cell Biology and, a higher degree in Immunology
  • High level analytical capability
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Experience in working with human tissue and cell isolation techniques and cell culture, competent in molecular biology assays, specifically PCR and Western Blotting, RNA knockdown of cells and immunological migration assays including flow adhesion assays. Experience of immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy. Experience of flow cytometry and immunophenotyping.
  • Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively
  • Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes
