The Instituto de Medicina Molecular (iMM João Lobo Antunes) opens a call for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship funded by the European Research Council, under the project “AXIAL.EC -PRINCIPLES OF AXIAL POLARITY-DRIVEN VASCULAR PATTERNING” (ERC-2015-STG - GA679368), coordinated by Claudio Franco.

Fellowship contract predicted to start on March or later, for 12 months, renewable up to 36 months, on an exclusive basis.


The fellow will recieve:

Monthly Remuneration: between € 1495 and € 2060, according to candidate’s previous experience and applicable regulation. The amount will be paid through bank transfer at the end of each month. It will be given the possibility to fellow to make monthly contributions to Social Security through the Voluntary Social Insurance regimen which will be refunded by IMM.


WorkPlace and scientific orientation:

The work will be developed at CFRANCO Lab of iMM Lisboa under the supervision of Claudio Franco, PhD. (
Fellow Monitoring Centre: The monitoring centre works on Tuesday (09:00AM to 01:00PM / 02:00PM to 06:00PM) and Thursday (02:00PM to 06:00PM), at Human Resources of iMM João Lobo Antunes.


Obligatory documents for applications:

Motivation letter; - Detailed CV; - Letter and Contact information of two references; - PhD certificate. The non-compliance with these requirements determines the immediate rejection of the application.
Evaluation: Applications will be evaluated by a jury composed by Sergio Almeida, Vanessa Morais and Cláudio Franco (all PhD’s).


Selection method:

All applications will be evaluated in accordance with the following valuation: - Curriculum Vitae (25%); - Motivation letter (10%); - Information from the referee(s) (15%). After evaluation of all applications up to 10 candidates will be selected to interview (50%).
Deadlines and Submission of Applications: The call will be open from 3rd February until 28th February, 2018.  

The results will be published at and posted at the entrance lobby of the Institute.
