This position is a great opportunity for a proven R&Der, who is looking for the next step in his career. You can combine your technical knowledge with more client contact, growing to a technical service manager. This means that you can combine lab work, with travelling outside of the lab and having direct contact. This will allow you to learn something new and expand your skill-set.
Having client contact, without using your technical skills, best of both worlds!
My client is a midsized chemical company that is very strong in the production of specific additives that they are selling into a variety of industries. Currently they are expanding into the coatings market and therefor a new position opened up. Being the first person doing this role for this specific industry, means that you will have a lot of freedom and decision making power to shape this role.
You will start with putting together a brand new Coatings applications lab; afterwards you will make a "formulation bible" as a base to help the sales team with technical advice to customers. For one third of your time, you will actually travel with the sales team to go visit clients. As a technical service manager, you will be speaking on a technical level with the clients and showing them how the specific additive can be used in their formulations, basically doing the application testing.
To be successful:
* Proven formulation experience with coatings
* Proven application testing experience for coatings
* Master or Phd education
* Fluency in English
* Willingness to travel
* Valid EU passport
* Living in the Roermond area or willing to relocate
