Senior Assistant Officer (30 hours per week) (post level 12)

Duties and responsibilities:
Offer academic administrative assistance to the staff and Head of the Department.
Assist the Head of the Department as well as postgraduate students with research administrative tasks and/or technical assistance. ·
Refer student enquiries with sufficient knowledge of the subject domains.
Manage all venue bookings, various control measures as well as assets.
Assist with the organisation and planning of various functions.
Report all maintenance queries within the department and manage follow-up procedures.
Capture electronic claims with regard to staff expenses, external academic or ad-hoc remunerations.
Organise flight bookings and car rentals for the staff.
Assist with purchasing and requisitions (procurement processes).
Perform general office administrative tasks.
Inherent requirements:
Appropriatepost-school qualifications
One (1) year's work experience
Business Acumen.
Results orientated.
Excellent communication skills.
Good time-management skills.
Recommendations:
Degree in Human Movement Sciences or other equivalent post-school qualification.

01 March 2018.
