My client is an energetic start-up, active in the MedTech industry. My client's project roots lie firmly with the University of Antwerp. With their multidisciplinary team, they improve therapy in hospitals. The University spin-off has developed a new way to administer consumable hospital use and improve not only patient comfort but also achieve substantial savings for the hospital and the general healthcare costs. After having developed a solid business in order to target EU leadership, my client has the will to recruit a Senior International Sales Manager that will alongside with the company create a performing team.

Profile and the Job:

Seniority - You know the tricks of the hospital medical device trade and you have gained substantial international experience. We are very interested to hear all about your specific knowledge in the MedTech sector, especially experience with indirect sales models, working through local distribution partners and the way you managed to reach your sales targets. At least 10 years of experience working with distributors in Germany, Switzerland, Italy or the Benelux is a basic requirement. Preferably, this experience is gained either in the hospital sector itself where you had decision-making power in the purchase of medical equipment, in the distribution sector being responsible for hospital sales or at a manufacturer where you occupied a similar role.

Leadership - Above anything else, you are authentic. You are aware of your personal strengths and sensitivities. You are not afraid to share insight on your strengths and sensitivities with others. Your moral compass points firmly in the right direction. You are aware of the impact your behaviour can have on other people. You lead by example, objectively analyzing issues, taking into account the broader context and providing a perspective to the team. Eventually, you will coach your team to sound and widely-supported decision-taking. From the first contact, your personal values and standards are evident and respected by everyone.

Energy - You display sound and quick-thinking ability. You are able to assimilate a lot of information efficiently and distinguish the fundamental issues from the superficial ones. Taking the lead and initiating a project comes naturally for you. Your fellow team members will feel the energy when you can concentrate on the things you do best. The role we would like to see you play in the team is the one of initiator, of motivator and of deal-closer. Your shared energy will be instrumental in getting the team aligned.

Empathy - You display empathy in all your interactions and are able to use this ability persuasively. You intuitively feel what is best for all parties concerned. You are a good negotiator and you are sensitive to the different perspectives that need to be taken into account. You are able to sell dreams and we look forward to experiencing this ability when you share your dreams with us.

Affinity - with our market sector. You are passionate about healthcare in general and hospital-based care in particular. You understand patient needs and how medical and nursing staff can better address these needs using our product. You are committed to improving the world we live in and will help others in any way possible. Hospitals are among the most complex organizations and it takes special skills to successfully sell into this universe. More important than the know-how itself, we are interested in what you have learned from your personal experience: what works and what doesn't.

Language skills - Starting initially with German-speaking territories, our goal is to conquer the entire European market. Therefore, affinity with other cultures and languages is a must. Being based in Antwerp, we welcome your application in Dutch or English, but if your mother tongue happens to be German, this will make your application particularly interesting to us.
