Teaching Focussed Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice

The University of Birmingham is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice. The person appointed to this role will support and assist with the successful development and delivery of postgraduate education and research related to advanced practice. The clinical lecturer will contribute to the teaching across a range of modules within the Advanced Clinical Practice portfolio, work towards expanding clinical research and strengthening collaborative studies. An understanding of the fundamentals of advanced practice, health assessment, clinical management and leadership and complex clinical decision-making is essential. Previous experience of teaching and assessment is essential. Holding an independent prescribing qualification would also be desirable. You should hold a professional registered healthcare qualification and be trained to at least Masters level. A PhD is preferable but not required. You should have experience of teaching successfully at Higher Education level. You will also have a strong academic background to facilitate work on a range of innovative continuing professional development modules at postgraduate level. You will be expected to undertake research and scholarly activity in pedagogy and/or your specialist field.

You will be able to assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions autonomously. You should also be competent in clinical examination, advanced clinical decision making, multidisciplinary team working and have a passion for teaching and sharing exemplary advanced practice.
