The MetroHealth System, a nationally ranked non-profit, public health care system, is one of the largest, most comprehensive healthcare providers in Northeast Ohio, serving the medical needs of the Greater Cleveland community since 1837. MetroHealth is conducting a national search for a new Chair to lead the transformation of the Department of Oral Health and Dentistry, paving the future for innovative clinical care, education, and research. Affiliated with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Dental Medicine since September 2017, the Department is uniquely situated to train the next generation of innovative dentists and oral surgeons. The new Chair will be responsible for developing key relationships between and among CWRU and local and regional clinical and education collaborators. The new Chair will be an outstanding leader and skilled educator or educator-investigator. The next Chair inherits the benefit of a recently approved plan for a $950 million campus transformation which includes construction of a new in-patient tower and clinical facilities. This is an unparalleled opportunity to lead a growing clinical, education, and research enterprise, and serve as an integral leader of MetroHealth.

The Department is known for an exceptional variety of cases and has particular strength in caring for special needs patients requiring general anesthesia, and geriatric patients. The Department is well-positioned for a Chair who has an interest in population health and health disparities research, given MetroHealth's diverse population and commitment to care for the underserved.
