    The Faculty of the Professions is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. It is comprised of the prestigious Adelaide Law School, the School of Architecture and Built Environment, the Adelaide Business School, the School of Economics, the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre, Institute for International Trade, Centre for Global Food and Resources and the Future of Employment and Skills Research Centre.     The role of Faculty Senior Management and Research Accountant provides high-level budgeting and financial advice to Schools and Business Units and is integral in the delivery of integrated, outcome oriented financial services across the Faculty.

    This position will share responsibility for the financial management and accounting services across the Schools and Business Units as determined by the Finance and Planning Manager, providing leadership and direction in the development of the School budgets in relation to student revenue and related expenditure.  The Faculty Senior Management and Research Accountant will work collaboratively with the Heads of School and School Managers to translate student load forecasts into revenue and expenditure plans for Schools, developing the budget to support the Faculty's strategic objectives for growth and financial success.  This role will also support the financial management of research contracts and tenders, including working with academics to ensure timely acquittal of research grants.

    This position will assist with the identification of new business opportunities and strategic investments and provide financial input into business cases for revenue generating projects and tender documents. The role is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of reporting, budget management and variance analysis and will support the Finance and Planning Manager by ensuring early identification of budget variance is provided and recommendations are made to achieve the financial targets required of the Faculty.

    Salary: (HEO8) $95,493 - $107,179 per annum.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.

    Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately.

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    1. Extensive experience in the delivery of a range of management accounting services.
    2. Demonstrated experience in the management of finances within a large and complex organisation with diverse business areas.
    3. Demonstrated experience in the use and development of financial modelling and analysis.
    4. Knowledge of relevant finance legislation, regulations and reporting requirements.
