    University Collections, within the Division of Vice-Chancellor and President, manages the University’s collections and heritage; researching, documenting and preserving them in collaboration with academic disciplines across all campuses.  We also present a diverse program of public events, engaging the broader community with a wide range of the arts and other cultural aspects of University life.  The collections of the University of Adelaide, enrich the University environment, support its teaching and research programs and provides a resource for students, staff and the community.

    In this role you will oversee the University Collections volunteer group, including coordinating the volunteer programs,  rostering and providing support for volunteer tour guides.  You will also oversee the development and maintainance of an online and social media presence for University Collections to maximise access and increase awareness of University collections and cultural programs within the University and broader community.  In this position, you will also assist with the development and implementation of cultural programs while supporting the implementation and population of the collection management database.

    Key deliverables include social media visibility for the area along with visibility and accessibility of the collection management database and engagement of students in the Collection programs.

    Salary: (HE05) $67,262 - $75,057 per annum.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% may apply.

    Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately until December 2018.

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • Knowledge of museum professional practice and demonstrated experience in coordination of art projects
    • Knowledge of contemporary communication channels and emerging technologies, including social media and other online platforms
    • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft suite, EMu database (or equivalent database), web content management systems and social media platforms.
    • Knowledge of project management methodologies and project delivery
