Job Details

As a Law School, we are committed to high quality legal education and scholarship. To that end, we intend to strengthen our research and teaching across all core areas of the curriculum. For this post, therefore, we would welcome applications from those with an interest in either Public Law or Tort Law. 

For Public Law, defining the category broadly, we would welcome applications from those with an interest in constitutional law, data protection, privacy, and information technology law, as well as in international public law. For Tort Law, defining the category broadly, we would welcome applications from those with an interest in Tort, private international law, obligations and remedies generally. 

Successful candidates will have a track record of excellence in research and education including a demonstrated ability to design, deliver and lead in core LLB modules as well as at postgraduate level. You will be expected to make a substantial contribution to REF 2020 and to demonstrate a commitment to building a vibrant student experience and community. Visible, engaged, and collegiate, you will be required to contribute to the management and leadership of the Law School including through line management responsibilities. 

Research in the School currently clusters around a number of research centres including those for Law, Policy and Society (CLPS); Private and Commercial Law (PCL); Health Ethics and Law (HEAL); Maritime Law (IML); and Law and the Web (iLaws). In 2018, we will be setting up the Stefan Cross Centre for Women, Equality and Law. Colleagues are also involved in individual and collaborative scholarship in numerous other fields, often inter-disciplinary.
