Job Title: Administrative Officer B1: Foreign Payments

Financial Services Division

 

Duties

  • The administration of foreign payments and related services of the University;
  • Ensuring that foreign purchases meet the requirements of the University’s Financial Policy, as well as the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) regulations;
  • Liaising with the University’s bankers;
  • Liaising with internal clients;
  • Providing advice regarding the requirements of foreign payments;
  • The administration and compilation of the relevant documentation when SARB applications for approval are made;
  • Processing payments on the University’s financial system and the e-platform of the banking institutions;
  • Processing foreign payment journals;
  • The administration of additions and changes to the foreign creditors’ master file;
  • Providing related accounting functions within the Financial Services Division;
  • Stand-in responsibility for sundry payments in the Division.

 

Job Requirements

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification;
  • At least 2 years proven experience with and good knowledge of SARB regulations and the administration of foreign payments;
  • Proven ability to operate effectively as part of a team;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

 

Recommendation

  • Proven experience and knowledge of Stellenbosch University’s, or a similar institution’s, financial system.
