    The Adelaide Dental School is one of five schools in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Established in 2011, The Indigenous Oral Health Unit (IOHU) seeks to undertake research and provide research education in Indigenous Oral Health that is internationally recognised to be of the highest quality. The IOHU has partnerships with Indigenous groups in Brazil, New Zealand, Canada and the United States

    The school of Public Health provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in health sciences, counselling, psychotherapy, public health, health economics, epidemiology and biostatistics.

    This role requires a post-doctoral fellow with both dental and epidemiological qualifications and with experience working with Indigenous populations to undertake analysis of sensitive data from a range of sources, including national-level surveys, randomised controlled trials and government repositories.

    Salary: (Level A) $67,894 - $91,425 per annum.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.

    Term of position: This fixed-term position is available immediately for 3 years.

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful in this role you should have:

    • A PhD or equivalent higher academic qualification in a relevant area.
    • Dental qualification
    • Evidence of epidemiological training
    • Experience working with Indigenous populations
    • Well developed project management and research skills
    • Extensive data analysis skills using STATA and experience (publications) with child development research
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills and the capacity to develop effective working relationships with key external and internal contacts
