Job Details

We are soliciting applications from qualified individuals whose principal research area is in composition—classical, popular or commercial—with additional research interests and expertise in music technology-based creative practice and/or studio techniques.  Additional desirable skills and experience include creating and delivering modules in music education and pedagogy, or on cultural and historical aspects of 20th and 21st century musics.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in line with own areas of expertise and the needs of the Department of Music. Excellent teaching skills are essential and previous teaching experience is expected. It is desirable that the successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of new modules in their area of expertise.

We would particularly encourage women and ethnic minorities to apply.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research activities documented through performances, recordings, commissions, publications, research grants or other forms of artistic activity appropriate for their research area and be on target to produce a range of high quality research outputs eligible for submission to the upcoming 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF).

PhD required by start of appointment.
