Job Details

Only those who meet the requirements set out in Article 109 (1) of Higher Education Act of 27 July, 2005 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2016, Item 1842 as amended) and the following eligibility criteria may enter the contest:


- PhD degree in natural sciences (geography) or technical sciences (geodesy and cartography);
- documented and considerable scientific achievements;
- documented presentations at national and international scientific conferences;
- a special psychological and physical predispositions to scientific, didactic and organizational work in a full-time work, on the first job;
- fluency in Polish and English languages;
- the ability to take individual and independent decisions;
- the ability of creative cooperation with the people;
- graduated and documented training from GIS programs operate and programme in Python;
- graduated training course of didactics;
- experiences in didactics with students;
- documented experiences in scientific and research projects.


The candidate for an assistant position should to have:
- knowledge from geography and GIScience;
- permanent predispositions to development own specialist knowledge;
- the ability to share own knowledge to the other people, in particularly for students and PhD students.

- Copy of higher education diploma
- Copy of doctorate certificate
- Information about scientific, didactic and organizational achievements (abstract comprising candidate's most important areas of research, and scientific, educational, and other achievements)
- List of publications (including the publishing house, year of publication, and page number)
- Declaration under art. 109 ust. 1 ustawy Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym (o niekaralności) (Art. Paragraph 109 (1) of the Higher Education Act (of no criminal record))
- Declaration that Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń will be my primary employer once I have won the contest
- Declaration of consent to the processing of personal data contained in the job offer for the needs of the recruitment process, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act dated 29.08.1997 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2016, item 922)
- Opinion of the head of the organizational skills and abilities to research and teaching.

Additional information: Documents should be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences NCU in Toruń, ul. Lwowska 1, room 110 on or before 30.04.2018. The contest will be adjudicated no later than 31.05.2018. Your expected employment will commence on 1.10.2018. The application should refer to WNoZi-5/2018. The university does not provide accommodation.
