Your position
The candidate will be involved in the INsIDER (Imaging axonal degeneration and Repair in Multiple Sclerosis) study and will develop advanced MRI protocols for both in vivo and post mortem MRI, including myelin mapping, relaxometry, magnetization transfer imaging and multi-shell diffusion MRI. The candidate will work under the common supervision of the head of the ThINk Basel group (C. Granziera) and the head of the Medical Physics unit at University Hospital Basel and University of Basel.
Major tasks will consist in:
- MRI sequence programming,
- MATLAB programming,
- Quantitative MRI reconstruction
- Scientific writing
Your profile
The future postdoctoral student is expected to have:
- a PhD degree in physics or biomedical engineering
- a strong interest in biomedical applications
- good organizational and communication skills in English (German is an asset)
The candidate will be involved in a highly multi-disciplinary environment that includes physicists, engineers, mathematicians, and medical doctors. We expect the candidate to be open to new challenges and able to take initiatives.
