Job Details
Radiology Department at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is equipped with the latest technologies for X-rays, ultrasound, special procedures for diagnosis, VIR, CT, MRI, NM, PET-CT and Cyclotron. Trainee Medical Physicist is a 2 years traineeship programme which develops fresh graduates in the technologically advanced field of Imaging Medical Physics & Radiation Protection. Full time employment may be offered upon successful completion of the traineeship programme and availability of the vacant position.
Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Trainee Medical Physicist.
Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to attend didactic sessions and get hands on training by using Quality Assurance/Quality Control tool and Radiation Dosimetry System. Other prospects include:
- Assisting Medical Physicist and other staff in QA and QC related activities, teaching, research and radiation protection related activities.
- Rotation in modalities in Radiology and outside as per schedule to learn and support QA/QC related activities.
- Observing clinical procedures in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine to familiarize him/herself with the clinical practice.
- Performing routine pertinent Radiology procedures under QA/QC supervision and record proper log of procedures performed.
Requirements
You should have:
- MSc. (Physics or equivalent).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Adequate understanding of computer e.g. MS Office etc.
