Job Details
The post holder will be responsible for mapping lab based clinical research activities across the University, and liaising directly with the laboratory staff to facilitate the implementation of robust processes locally that will allow the research to be compliant with applicable regulations. The post holder will be a member of the Clinical Research Compliance Team, and is also to inform the further development of the University Quality Management System (QMS) relating to Good Laboratory Practices.
The post holder is expected to have
- A higher degree (or equivalent), in a life or biological science, or biomedical science.
- Extensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework which governs clinical trials, the management of samples collected from clinical trial participants, their processing, storage, and analysis.
- Experience of working within regulated laboratories and/or facilities.
- Effective communication (written and verbal), negotiation, presentation, prioritisation, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Demonstrate a critical and intelligent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems, and suggest solutions in own area, with regard to the local and wider interests of the College and University.
- Office management and clerical skills that include excellent word processing and document layout.
- Ability to travel in the UK and further afield on occasion. Overnight stays between visits may be required occasionally (3-4 times per year) and on occasion trips may include longer stays (up to 4 nights, Monday-Friday only).
