Your position
The successful candidate will strengthen the research profile of the group by contributing to ongoing research efforts, developing independent projects and research collaborations and supporting permanent staff in supervising BSc, MSc and PhD students working at the Geoecology group.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the Geoecology group's teaching.
Your profile
We are looking for a dynamic, reliable and motivated candidate with a PhD in biology, environmental sciences, Quaternary sciences or related disciplines and research experience at the postdoctoral level. A basic background in palaeoecological research is expected and candidates should be experienced in working with one or several biotic proxies that can be analyzed in late Quaternary environmental archives such as lake sediment records. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in species-environment relationships and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction
based on biotic proxy indicators. English language skills (written and oral) are required.
We offer you
We offer a position of at maximum 6 years in an international and interdisciplinary research environment at the University of Basel. The position will initially be for 2 years with the option of a 4-year extension, depending on the performance of the candidate. Salary and social benefits are provided according to University of Basel rules.
