UQ Business School

The UQ Business School provides a high-quality range of programs from undergraduate to masters to PhD. The Role

We are currently seeking full-time or part-time Associate Lecturers to work within the tourism discipline area in the UQ Business School and who can teach effectively into tourism, hospitality or event management courses. In this position you will engage in the teaching of courses with a tourism focus and work alongside other faculty members to improve the design and development of teaching, learning and administrative processes within the School. Course coordination, tutoring facilitation and coordinating teams of casual tutorial staff (which includes providing direction, advice and support on teaching, marking, consultation and administrative processes) will also be a part of this role.

 

The Person

The appointee will possess tertiary qualifications in tourism or a related area and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively teach under- and postgraduate students, facilitate in support of large classes and conduct tutorials. The preferred applicant will possess high level organisational and communication skills, be able to demonstrate interest in teaching at a high level as well as strong organisational and team citizenship. A demonstrated ability to use and engage with current and new teaching technologies is also expected.

The position is open to existing PhD students currently enrolled at UQ. There is a possibility of extension should the incumbent be on track to meet relevant PhD milestones. The contract will not be extended however past the end of calendar year of award of PhD.

Remuneration

This is a full-time (or part time equivalent), 2 year fixed-term appointment at Associate Lecturer Level A.  The remuneration package will be in the range of $64,533 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,503 - $102,415 p.a.).
