We invite applications and nominations for the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration.

This position will report directly to the President and will provide oversight of strategic financial planning and analysis of resource use and development; partnering in budget planning and oversight of budget implementation; treasury and risk management; accounting, procurement and business services; internal audit; facilities planning, construction and operations; human resource services; employee relations; and environment health and safety services.  The Vice President provides leadership for the institution’s ongoing efforts to pursue innovative business solutions and to develop operating strategies that enhance revenues and efficiency and lead to more cost-effective administrative practices.

 

The Vice President of Finance & Administration will:

  • Provide strong, dynamic administrative leadership, fosters a collegial environment.
  • Contribute to the successful achievement of the University’s overall goals and specific strategies as defined in the recently adopted five-year strategic plan,
  • Promote the University’s financial well-being by providing strategic and tactical leadership and ensuring sufficient resources to support the institutional mission and safeguarding financial assets.
  • Support and provides expertise to the University’s President and Board through the Business Affairs and Audit Committee and has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of the University's annual operating budget;
  • Direct supervision over individuals responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Facilities Management, IT, Communications and Marketing, and Administration;
  • Prepare, submits, and monitors the annual budget for areas of responsibilities;
  • Trains, supervises, evaluates, and directs the work of assigned personnel;
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the President.


Qualifications:

  • Must have a doctorate at an accredited institution.  Must have Full Professorship.
  • Five years in a senior administrative level leadership and experience in higher education;
  • An international perspective and a familiarity with relevant policy and regulatory frameworks would also be advantageous;
  • Evidence of academic research, professional practice and/or relevant consultancy.
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, strong fiscal management linking resource allocation to planning and priorities (including data-driven decision-making) and leading the ongoing efforts of the college to meet accreditation standards, and
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management experience.
