Property and Facilities

The Property & Facilities Division (P&F) is responsible for delivering comprehensive facilities management that supports the University's strategic objectives of Learning, Discovery and Engagement. P&F provides a range of services to the UQ Community, including the Energy & Sustainability Office. Led by P&F and working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, UQ’s energy and sustainability initiatives have gained significant recognition.

The role

The Program Manager – Environment & Sustainability will be responsible for developing and leading a program of initiatives to improve UQ’s sustainability performance in the areas of water, waste, biodiversity, transport, and greenhouse gas emissions (excluding energy management). The role also has oversight for all aspects of environmental compliance, including licenses & approvals, reporting obligations, and environmental incidents.

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications in a relevant discipline and have signficant relevant work experience. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of current and emerging best practice environmental management and sustainability. They will be dynamic, with a problem solving attitude and a relentless drive to deliver meaingful results. They will also have extensive knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, as well as excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811 - $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $101,628 - $121,930 p.a.).
