Job Details
You will have experience in a communications or marketing role, particularly with a remit for internal communications in a large and complex organisation, and havea demonstrable background in successfully building relationships with people at all levels – including Board Level.
You will have experience of copywriting, proofreading, and editing publications and copy for a range of channels including print, online and social media. You will have the ability to understand complicated information and communicate it in a clear and concise way. You will be required to use your judgement in solving problems as well as considering new ways of communicating with internal audiences. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to confidently deal with a wide range of internal stakeholders, some of whom will be high profile individuals or teams.
- Significant experience in a communications or marketing role.
- A proven track record as an exceptional administrator with significant copywriting, proofreading and editing skills.
- Meticulous degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Knowledge of emerging social media trends and experience of utilising these channels within a communications or marketing role.
- Self-motivated, well organised and able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders some of whom may be high profile individuals or teams.
- Calm and focused under pressure.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and training.
- Willingness to learn and understand the direction/vision of the University and how this may impact events.
- Experience of working in a complex and sensitive environment.
- Sense of professional integrity including ability to exercise discretion regarding the management and handling of highly sensitive information.
- Experience of events administration/management.
- Experience of internal communications.
- Experience of updating/maintaining web pages.
- Possession of a degree would be an advantage but is not essential.
- To constantly exhibit values and behaviours consistent with the University and External Relations frameworks.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the Higher Education sector, a strong belief in the importance of universities in society and an awareness of the issues that they face
