 The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of Wroclaw University announces a call for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Roman Law of the Institute of History of State and Law
at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of Wroclaw University
 
The call is open for those who comply with the requirements of Law on Higher Education (Dz. U. No. 2016., poz. 1842 with amendments).

Applicants should submit the following:

  • a letter of application addressed to the Chancellor of Wrocław University, CV,
  • personal data form https://uni.wroc.pl/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/kwestionariusz_zatr_ang.doc,
  • a summary of scientific and educational accomplishments as well as others, connected with organization and popularization of science,
  • a list of scientific publications, description of educational accomplishments as well as others, connected with organization and popularization of science,
  • a copy of the PhD diploma,
  • at least one letter of reference including information about the applicant’s academic, educational and organizational record, written by an associate professor or a professor in the area which the applicant is interested in or a related area.

Description:

  • The Candidate should meet the following requirements:
  • Title of Juris Doctor (JD, or equivalent - PhD in Law) with specialization in History of Law, awarded not longer than 5 years ago.
  • Has at least one year of experience working in academic capacity.
  • Academic achievements (papers and speeches at the conferences) in the fields of Roman law and it’s reception or in the field of history of law and comparatistic research of private law.
  • Has teaching experience in conducting classes on academic level in the programs conducted by the Department of Roman Law: Prawo Rzymskie (Roman Law), Łacińska terminologia dla prawników (Latin terminology for Lawyers), Europejska Kultura Prawna (European Legal Culture).
  • Has experience in conducting classes in English at public university.
  • Fluency in Latin language on the level required for unassisted research on source material in Latin and for conducting of classes: Prawo Rzymskie (Roman Law) and Łacińska terminologia dla prawników (Latin terminology for Lawyers)


Fluent command of Polish language, in case of non-native speakers fluency in Polish language must be documented by the C1 level language certificate.
Professional title such as: adwokat (advocate), radca prawny (solicitor), rzecznik patentowy (patent agent), doradca podatkowy (tax accountant), prokurator (public prosecutor), sędzia (judge), notariusz (notary) lub komornik (bailiff), held by the applicant as a requirement for conducting classes in the form of legal clinic and moot-courts.
Willingness to accept employment on University of Wroclaw as a primary workplace.
