IMDEA Materials seeks a full-time PhD with a priority to candidates with experience and interest in bio-optoelectronics. We are looking for an individual with initiative and motivation to start her/his career in a new and dynamic research group. The research activities will be focused on the study of the development of bio-hybrid materials based on the combination of polymers and fluorescent proteins. The latter will be applied in lighting systems with the main focus on developing new technologies that followed the “Green Photonics” concept.

The PhD candidate will acquire a mature knowledge on handling of bio-compounds, spectroscopic, rheology, and microscopic techniques, as well as the fabrication and characterization of optoelectronic devices.

Full time contract including social security coverage.

Salary depending on previous experience and credentials.

The position will be open until the candidate is selected.
