Associate Professor-Mathematical Sciences

Only those who meet the requirements set out in Article 109 (1) of Higher Education Act of 27 July, 2005 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2016, Item 1842 as amended) and the following eligibility criteria may enter the contest:

- candidate should hold a PhD degree and habilitation in Mathematics,
- scientific achievements in the field of mathematical statistics, in particular Monte Carlo algorithms using Markov chains (MCMC) and  sequential Monte Carlo algorithms(SMC), particle MCMC algorithms, evidenced by publications,
- scientific achievements in the field of nonparametric models of Bayesian statistics including Monte Carlo methods using in these models, evidenced by publications,
- have an experience in giving lectures in Mathematical statistics, Statistical data analysis and Insurance risk theory,
- required fluency in Polish and English.

• Information about scientific, didactic and organizational achievements (abstract comprising candidate's most important areas of research, and scientific, educational, and other achievements)
• List of publications (including the publishing house, year of publication, and page number)
• Declaration under art. 109 ust. 1 ustawy Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym (o niekaralności) (Art. Paragraph 109 (1) of the Higher Education Act (of no criminal record)
• Declaration that Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń will be my primary employer once I have won the contest 
• Declaration of consent to the processing of personal data contained in the job offer for the needs of the recruitment process, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act dated 29.08.1997 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2016, item 922) 

Additional informations: Documents should be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science NCU in Toruń, ul. Chopina 12/18, room D 208 on or before 27th April 2018. The contest will be adjudicated no later than 16th July 2018. Your expected employment will commence on 1st October 2018. The university does not provide accommodation.
