Job Details
Are you familiar with supporting the management of complex multi-partner projects?
The School of Chemistry is part of the Faculty of Maths & Physical Sciences. Our multidisciplinary research team focusses on crystallisation, materials chemistry, electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy and surface science.
We are looking for a motivated and proactive Project Support Officer to support the academic Principal Investigator of a new EPSRC-funded research programme within the School of Chemistry. The Project, ‘Crystallisation in the Real World: Delivering Control through Theory and Experiment’ is a 5-year, £5.4 Million research programme that includes three experimental groups and five modelling groups from Leeds (both Chemical Engineering and Chemistry), UCL, Sheffield and Warwick Universities.
The aim of our project is to develop new ways to control crystallisation by combining cutting-edge experiment and modelling to understand the mechanisms that determine how inorganic crystals nucleate and grow. As Project Support Officer you will be responsible for providing project support, including all aspects of finance, event organisation, meeting and travel, effective communication with project Consortium members, including senior academics and young researchers, and external stakeholders, as well as handling questions and enquiries.
You will also be involved with project dissemination and exploitation activities, such as servicing the project’s website with the support of project partners; and you will also liaise with other Finance and Research & Innovation Support Teams within the Faculty and across the Campus, as required. The position is part-time, corresponding to 3 days per week, with the possibility of flexible working hours.
