Project Manager

You will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating WSI projects and initiatives.  In particular, you will support the WSI partnership with Southampton Connect, providing professional support to researchers, academics and external partners by planning, monitoring and tracking the progress of multiple projects against timelines, including managing a large budget.  This diverse role will include working with members of Southampton Connect, University researchers and academics, to coordinate the writing of large research grants and managing and organising strategic meetings and events, representing and promoting the WSI.

You will actively develop, interact and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships with a broad range of significant leads (both internal and external) at decision-maker level, building a WSI membership model and base. You will promote the WSI as a centre of excellence on a national and international level.  

It is essential you are able to demonstrate your experience of lateral and strategic thinking as we will rely on this to support the WSI Directors in formulating and contributing to strategic plans and propositions for the WSI. In addition, your ability to communicate in a professional, transparent and timely manner are key to use delivering the project to time. You will have achieved a skill level equivalent to achievement of a professional qualification or postgraduate degree in business management/administration. A project management qualification would be beneficial.

The post will be held in the Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton.
