LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER: GEOGRAPHY (ONE POST)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Co-ordinating and managing Geography Education;
- Teaching Geography Education at undergraduate and postgraduate level;
- Undertaking teaching practice;
- Conducting scholarly research.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Lecturer:
- Master’s degree in Geography Education;
- SACE registration;
- Experience in teaching Geography at school level;
- 3-5 years’ teaching experience in higher education;
- Evidence of research publications in Geography Education;
- Experience in course/module development;
- Experience in hybrid teaching and learning.
Senior Lecturer (same as for Lecturer, plus):
- Doctorate degree in Geography Education.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- A transformational outlook;
- Student-centred in approach.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Working knowledge of GIS;
- Working knowledge of the position of Geography in Social Science.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
