    The Division of University Operations enables the University's delivery of high-quality and distinct learning, teaching and research experiences. The division's strategic responsibilities have evolved from the University of Adelaide's strategic plan, focusing on people, community, assets and infrastructure and processes.

    The Information Technology and Digital Services branch is part of the Division of University Operations, which provides technology capabilities to support the University's teaching and research objectives and business activities. The branch services the vast University community through four core services: IT Business Engagement, IT Programs and Digital Solutions Delivery, IT Operations and Digital Services, and IT Strategy Planning and Governance.

    This is a newly created role within the IT Strategy, Planning and Governance team that will be responsible for ensuring the University elicits maximum benefit from its IT Investments. The role will lead the planning of the annual and multiyear IT Investment Plan and support the University in identifying and prioritising IT investments, support delivery teams and support ITDS Associate Directors in ensuring that the delivery of the ITDS portfolio is managed and that Technology solutions are fit for purpose, aligned to IT principles and sustainable.

     

    Salary:

    (HEO10) $122,720 to $130,819 per annum.

     

    Superannuation:

    An employer contribution of 17% applies.

     

    Term of position:

    This continuing position is available immediately. 

     

    Position requirements:

    To be successful you should have:

    • Experience of working in a large and complex organisational environment to effect strategic change
    • Experience and knowledge in establishing and managing an IT Portfolio/Program Management function that encapsulates inclusion of key processes, managing people, and application of technological understanding in alignment with the corporate needs
    • Experience in defining an IT Portfolio that is underpinned by elements of prioritisation, clear articulation of business outcomes, demand management, cost estimation, and resource planning
    • Knowledge of business planning and the translation of strategy into portfolios of projects
    • Experience in planning and leading IT Portfolio planning processes for annual and longer-term cycles
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of independent operation, strategic, problem solving and creative thinking, and a proven capacity to plan, prioritise and implement strategies for a large and complex organisation
    • The learning capacity to understand the development needs of a leading Australian university, and awareness of local and international trends in the higher education sector.
