DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATOR B (ONE-YEAR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT FOR 20 HOURS PER WEEK)
PEROMNES POST LEVEL 10

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- The administration of public health-related teaching in Block 2 (BOK 284) and the associated research module;
- The administration of all other teaching slots undertaken by the Undergraduate Co-ordinator, including those that are in collaboration with other departments;
- Providing ad-hoc assistance with administrative activities for the Tuks Undergraduate Research Forum (TURF) and appropriate undergraduate committees;
- Providing administrative support to the MMed programme, including registrar rotations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 with four years’ relevant experience in office administration; OR
- A diploma or equivalent qualification in Administration with two years’ experience in office administration;
- Experience in a tertiary education/academic environment;
- Certificates obtained for applicable computer programmes (MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Drivers licence.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Applicable professional communication and language skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to work under pressure without compromising detail and accuracy;
- Ability to prioritise work independently and handle simultaneous assignments with success and accuracy (time management);
- Administrative and organising skills;
- Ability to handle confidential information;
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
PLEASE NOTE:

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
