Job Details

The role will be to enhance the service delivery of USAIS by providing sign language interpretation, communication support and advice. The usual days of work will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday but on occasions you may be asked to work more flexibly.

You will support the patients and/or their families/parents/carers attending the Service to fully access the service by interpreting and translating spoken and written English into British Sign Language or Sign Supported English, and sign language into spoken and written English. In addition the role will include providing training and advice to clinical and administrative staff and developing materials to enhance the USAIS service in a variety of media.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) will be required for this role.
