Job Details
You will be expected to develop and carry out research in modern Chinese History to enhance or complement existing research strengths in the Department of History and Faculty of Humanities, and make a strong contribution to the 2021 REF and beyond. You should also be able to show how you would look to develop the wider impact of your work. Short-listed candidates will be asked to submit samples of written work.
You will also be required to undertake leadership, management and engagement activities within the Department of History and/or Faculty of Humanities as appropriate.
You must have a PhD in modern Chinese History, and have relevant linguistic skills. You must show a developing profile of international excellence in research and publications, together with potential for attracting research funding. You will undertake research-led teaching at all levels of the Faculty’s History programmes, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and teaching of new modules in History, and you will play an active role in our administrative team.
