The School of Clinical Medicine

The School of Clinical Medicine has a strong focus on the delivery of both phases of the Medicine program across a number of sites within the Brisbane metropolitan area, including but not limited to, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Herston; the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Woolloongabba as well as QE2 and Redlands Hospitals; the Prince Charles Hospital, Chermside as well as Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals; Mater and Lady Cilento Childrens Hospitals, South Brisbane; Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich; Greenslopes Private Hospital, Greenslopes; Wesley and St Andrew’s Hospitals, Brisbane; and the St Lucia Campus. Leadership at each site is provided by an experienced academic with responsibility for budget and financial matters, human resource matters and facility management. The School consists of academic staff members across all clinical disciplines and more than 2500 academic title holders.  

The role

The Master of Mental Health Program MMHP is part of the schools postgraduate offerings in mental health, consisting of graduate certificate, masters and research degree options. The MMHP has a generic first year then students may choose specialist streams of study for their second year including psychotherapy, and art therapy.   As coordinator of the psychotherapy specialisation you will be responsible for managing the planning, and implementation, of this stream, student management, teaching and assessment.  You will also be involved with overall management of the MMHP as part of a dedicated teaching team. As a teaching focussed Senior Lecturer you will also engage in teaching and scholarship within the School. This position will be based within the Royal Brisbane Clinical Unit, Herston.

The person

Applicants should hold recognised qualifications in a discipline relevant to the role and have significant experience providing mental health treatments and services in industry. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of psychotherapy as well as experience in clinical teaching, and demonstrated teaching and coordination skills at the postgraduate level.

Remuneration

This is a part-time (0.3FTE), three year fixed term appointment as a Teaching Focused Academic Level C. The remuneration package will be in the range of $33,862.34 - $39,045.27 p.a. (pro rata) plus employer contributions of 9.5% (total pro-rata package will be in the range of $37,079.26 - $42,754.58).

Clinical and State Loadings may be payable to eligible appointees.
