School Research Officer

Applications are invited for the role of School Research Officer based in School for Economics, Finance & Management.

This is an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist the Deputy School Manager, School Manager and Research Director in managing a range of research activities. The role-holder will facilitate the preparation, co-ordination and submission of the School’s research grant applications and will support the Research Director in managing the internal peer-review process for small and medium internal and external funding applications. The role-holder will also support activities related to the Research Excellence Framework (REF), support the School’s Research Committee, monitor research budgets and grants, and oversee the co-ordination of some of the School’s research events.

The scope of the role is wide ranging; we are looking for an individual who excels in managing multiple projects/tasks, uses their initiative, is proactive, and has the ability to seek out and make improvements to a process.

The role-holder will need to establish successful working relationships with academics, multiple administrative teams, and project partners and funders.

This role would appeal to someone looking to develop a career in research administration.
