Job Title: Department of Health and Rehabilitation SciencesPhysiotherapy DivisionLecturer / Therapist(Job Level 8)Ref. TGB15/125/0418 Appointment is made on the joint establishment of Stellenbosch University and the Western Cape Provincial Government.

Duties

• Under- and postgraduate teaching/clinical supervision primarily in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary physiotherapy;
• Clinical service provision and consultation in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary physiotherapy within the public health sector;
• Active involvement in the development of under- and postgraduate teaching modules;
• Under- and postgraduate student research project supervision;
• Participation in teaching, research and community interaction activities, as well as projects of the Division and Faculty;
• Applicable dissemination of research findings;
• Academic administration and management.

 

Job Requirements

• A relevant Master's degree;
• Teaching or clinical supervision experience in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary physiotherapy;
• At least three years’ clinical experience in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary physiotherapy (acute and chronic);
• An attendance record of appropriate Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary physiotherapy;
• Evidence of research output (publications, conference presentations) or presentation of CPD courses in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary physiotherapy;
• Registered/registrable with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as a Physiotherapist.

 

Recommendation

• Doctorate in Physiotherapy;
• Experience in management/administrative activities;
• Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork;
• Experience with academic/clinical collaborations;
• Experience in postgraduate supervision;
• Research experience.
