Technical & Regulatory Manager - Biocides

A growing brand with major production facilities now being built to service it's product range, our client is a privately owned but profitable organisation to work for. Within it's horticulture brand that produces garden care products such as weed killers, they seek A Technical Manager to play a crucial role in day to day site management, new product development and technical advise. Whilst our client is not a large multi-national, they offer a chance to mould a position around you and develop with one to one interaction with senior and highly experienced staff. They offer a vibrant working community with a hands on approach.

To accommodate an internal change of responsibilities comes a brand new position which you have the potential to make your own.

Lead and manage the Technical / Regulatory affairs of the business and oversee the Compliance and Health and Safety functions.

Key Areas of Responsibility

* Develop and implement regulatory strategies for substances relating to a broad range of plant protection, biocides and fertilizer products.

* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current and future regulatory landscape.

* Design and optimise access to registrations to support the agreed short and long-term strategy of the business.

* Provide regulatory stewardship and guidance to the commercial team with regard to active substances, registrations, new product development, packaging and labelling.

* Coordinate and deliver the submission of dossiers, registrations, administration associated with the company's product portfolios.

* Work with third party suppliers of actives to deliver agreed strategies.

* Represent the company and interact with government authorities, industry bodies, task forces and other working groups to achieve regulatory objectives.

* Manage; timelines, resources, budgets and reporting on progress for Regulatory activities.

* Oversee Compliance and Health and Safety functions.

Experience / Qualifications Required

This role merits an individual with a high level of appropriate Regulatory Affairs acumen within horticulture who has the confidence and ability to work in a team and to be a decision maker.

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Minimum of 8 years' experience in the regulatory fields of plant protection and ideally biocides with a company selling into the UK retail sector

* Experience of liaising with government authorities, industry bodies and task forces

* Leadership and project management skills

* Ability to represent the company and work with cross functional teams and external third parties

* Problem solver with entrepreneurial spirit

* IT literate and competent user of relevant software

* Fluent written and spoken English

* Flexible and able to travel internationally

* Ideally appropriate experience, qualifications or capacity for managing Compliance and Health and Safety functions
