Grade 10: £53,691 – £62,219 p.a.

The Social Sciences Division at the University of Oxford is seeking to recruit a Head of Education Policy and Planning.

You will be the senior divisional administrator responsible for strategic planning in relation to undergraduate and graduate provision, academic policy, and quality assurance across the Division’s fourteen academic departments.  You will oversee the Division’s key academic committees and represent the Division within the wider collegiate university.   

You will be a key member of the Division’s senior management team and will lead the Division’s education section.  You will also  work closely with the Head of Division, the Associate Head of Division (Education), the Academic Director of the Doctoral Training Partnership, and Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies in the Social Sciences departments. 

This is a highly varied and demanding role which requires extensive prior experience of working at senior management level, preferably in university administration, or, if not, then in a close equivalent.  You will have a good honours degree and be able to demonstrate highly developed leadership, relationship management, problem solving, analytical, communication, and organisational skills, allied to accuracy in all aspects of your work.  Your personal attributes will include resilience, self-motivation and adaptability.  You will relish the challenge of prioritising a complex portfolio in a fast-moving environment and contributing to strategic thinking while managing a number of operational areas.

This permanent, full-time role is based at the Social Sciences Divisional Office, 75 George Street, Oxford.
