Senior Lecturer in Public Management in the Institute for Local Government (INLOGOV)

Job Purpose

This post will provide expertise in Public Management. The postholder will contribute at a senior level on a sustained basis to the whole range of Research, Teaching Leadership and Administration. The postholder will create and disseminate knowledge at a senior level through initiating and conducting significant research and through developing and delivering postgraduate programmes both face to face and on line and executive education programmes for public service organisations

 

Person Specification

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant area and have a track record, commensurate with the seniority of the position, of publications (appropriate for REF submission), research funding, research management and supervision, and teaching leadership and innovation

The postholder will be expected to: Cover necessary PG teaching in Public Management and Governmance, change theories, leadership and public finance. Contribute to UG modules in the school and business school as approriate. Teaching in a variety of ways including face to face, distance learning and blended approaches. Undertake PGT dissertation supervision and serve as a PGT academic personal tutor. Supervise doctoral students. Produce publications that will contribute to REF 2021 and future REFs, to submit applications for research funding and support research development in the department. Contribute to the administration and management of the department and School by undertaking administrative duties as directed by the Head of Department
