The Advanced Water Management Centre

The Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in innovative water technology and management. The role

The Advanced Water Management Centre is seeking researchers as part of a strategic education and research partnership supported by the Australian Meat Processing Corporation (AMPC). The successful appointee will undertake research supported by AMPC and other Australian agricultural industries in areas including waste management, water treatment and sustainable value-add; the appointee will be encouraged to develop new research ideas and apply for research funding. There are opportunities to work directly with industry and to be part of research teams, to address individually-developed and collaboratively-generated research questions, and to supervise RHD students.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in chemical/environmental engineering, biotechnology or related areas and demonstrated expert knowledge in energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies, water treatment, waste treatment, or environmental sustainability. You should also have a strong desire to support industry and develop a successful and highly-productive research career in waste management, water treatment and sustainable technologies. You should have practical engineering skills, a focus on safety, attention to detail, excellent analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

The appointment will be made on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 1 year at Research Academic Level A or B, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The remuneration package of a Research Academic Level A appointment will be in the range of $64,533.50 - $87,535.13 p.a, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $75,504.20 - $102,416.10 p.a).

The remuneration package of a Research Academic Level B appointment will be in the range of $92,142.74 - $109,419.20 p.a, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $107,807.01 - $128,020.46 p.a).
