Job Details
The Department of Medicine (MED), within Swiss TPH, is built on the foundation of clinical medical services, diagnostics, pharmaceutical medicine and clinical research. Within our Clinical Statistics and Data Management group we are seeking a highly motivated Statistician. (80-100%)
The Statistician will contribute to different projects that require both analytical skills but excellent communication. The applicant will support the research activities of several projects both in the MED department, at Swiss TPH and in resource-limited settings. The Statistician will collaborate with other departments at Swiss TPH.
Duties
- Collaborates with clinicians on various projects in different disease areas
- Works with data managers to specify data collection for studies
- Design, monitor and analyse data from observational studies or clinical trials
- Provide statistical support and input to members of the MED department
- Maintain and process complex databases for use in research projects
- Contribute to teaching courses for the Masters in Epidemiology degree.
- Presents data at conferences and meetings where needed
Person Specification
- Masters or PhD in Statistics
- Good programming skills in Stata (preferred), SAS or R
- Experience in analysis of complex observational data or clinical trials
- Knowledge of machine learning is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
