Duties and responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to line manager (Subject Head).
Responsible for general office administration and operations, including:
Administer departmental venue bookings and order, allocate, keep records of equipment and assets, store stationery and order library books.
Responsible for meeting administration and records of departmental meetings.
Arrange events within the department.
Responsible for accommodation arrangement.
Administer student assistants and capture student marks (test and exams results).
Handle general correspondence and liaise with Bloemfontein Campus, local administration and management.
Arrange the logistics for all the marketing related events.
Responsible for general finance administration and operations, including:
Request and appraise quotations and capture requisitions.
Receive purchase orders and processe invoices for payments of service providers.
Manage employee claims (F1, F2 and related claims).
Capture, report and follow up on job requests for maintenance and repairs where necessary.
Monitor the telephone accounts of staff and bring discrepancies under the attention of the line manager.
One (1) to two (2) years relevant experience in higher education working environment.
Intermediate computer skills including, but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
The ability to give work to students or work with students.
Communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.
