We are recruiting for four roles, one Student Engagement Manager and three Student Engagement Advisors to roll out a new service that monitors students’ engagement, proactively offering support to those at risk of disengaging from their studies.  As the Student Engagement Manager, you would be responsible for managing the three advisors, designing the processes and liaising with stakeholders to embed this new service, which supports the university’s Access and Participation plan. You will also be responsible for designing targeted support services to aid retention, success and progression.

In addition to managing Student Engagement, you will be responsible for managing the university’s Student Funding team who offer hardship support, administer our bursary programme and are responsible for the university’s participation in the US Federal Loans scheme.

The successful candidate will have strong management skills and the ability to lead a large team. Knowledge of higher education, particularly widening participation, student support and issues effecting students from a wide range of backgrounds is essential.  To ensure the smooth running of our services you will be self-sufficient and able to coordinate a busy schedule of work across the student lifecycle.  It is important that you can demonstrate solid transferable skills, passion and commitment. Responsible for allocating and prioritising work, monitoring individual progress and managing processes you must also be able to ensure staff are clear about daily changing work priorities and service expectations. 

The Student Services Centre is staffed 0800-1800 Monday to Friday with extended hours until 2000 during peak periods and the post holder will be required to keep a flexible working pattern within these times. Some weekend work will be required to support events and Open Days.
