Research Associate / Senior Research Associate

Our group is interested in the communication between astrocytes and neurones in the brain, in particular via lactate (see Tang et al 2014, Nat Comm, doi 10.1038/ncomms4284), and its impact on behavioural and physiological outputs, such as cardio-respiratory control.

This grant-funded post will extend our previous work and deliver specific research outcomes, including development and in vitro validation of novel molecular tools that will feed into collaborative experimentation.

An ideal candidate will come with a multidisciplinary biomedical skills base, including molecular biology, cell and tissue culture, fluorescence imaging and histology, and a strong background in neurosciences. Additional training will be available.

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to engage with ongoing research and able to quickly learn new approaches within our team. In case currently pending applications for further funding are successful, the post might be extended.
