Job Details
Duties
- Conducting virological research on topics aligned with institutional and national thematic priority areas and strategies;
- Generating external grant funding to support the research,Training and supervising postgraduate students and publishing scientific papers;
- Participating in the Division’s and Faculty’s teaching at under- and postgraduate level, as well as managerial and administrative matters.
Job Requirements
- Masters’ degree in Virology or a related field for appointment as lecturer, or a PhD in a relevant field (preferably virology) for appointment as senior lecturer;
- Proven experience with virological laboratory research;
- Experience as (co-)supervisor for postgraduate students;
- The applicant should aspire to an academic career as a scientist in medical virology.
Recommendation
- A strong track record in publishing scientific papers, generating external funding for research, and postgraduate student supervision.
