Job Details

The University is seeking to establish a pool of people who might be appointed to its governing body, the University Council, for 2018-19 and beyond. The University Council is made up of a combination of internal and independent (lay) members. Lay members should bring specialist expertise at an appropriately senior level in one or more of the areas relevant to the Council’s role and remit. This includes corporate leadership, audit and risk management, commerce, retail and other customer-focused sectors, human resources and change management, compliance and regulation (including health and safety), manufacturing and technology, the law, health, education, the public sector, the charitable and not-for-profit sectors, strategy development, sustainability, and communications and the media. In particular on this occasion, the University is seeking expertise in estates and infrastructure, IT and IT security, accountancy and audit skills, although candidates with other experience should not be deterred from applying as strong applications will be considered for future appointments.
