Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate

Job Details

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate position is available to work with an industrial partner, for the purpose of knowledge transfer from the University. The industrial partner is an Intellectual Property (IP) company, which designs IP for the hardware acceleration of the signal processing performed in wireless communication systems.

Qualifications: PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Electronic Engineering or Wireless Communications is essential.

Skills and experience: The Associate would have specific knowledge sets in hardware acceleration and message passing algorithms.

Technical: Logical thinker with desire to work in commercial environment. Able to organise own research activities and quality standards effectively. Competent software engineer, capable of working independently with a diverse range of systems and languages. A self-starter, able to plan and justify focus on extensive research that will lead to long-term commercial benefit.

Communication: Able to work effectively in a team and organise time, tasks and responsibilities with other team members. Ability to clearly document and communicate results at a company level and to prospective customers.

Teamwork: Confidence and ability to embed in a technical team, engage with external suppliers and customers, and to transfer ideas and information between the knowledge base and company. A high level of maturity and effective project management will be preferable.

You will be based at Chilworth Science Park, with occasion meetings with university collaborators at the Highfield Campus.
