The University is seeking to appoint a Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor. The Personal Assistant will be responsible for providing first class support to ensure the smooth management of a complex and challenging schedule, management of day to day affairs, and most effective use of the Vice-Chancellor’s time. The role holder will primarily support the Vice-Chancellor in his major responsibilities across the HE sector, nationally and internationally, but will also act as the first point of contact for the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor and be responsible for makinglogistical arrangements as required.

The Vice-Chancellor’s office resembles the offices of a Chief Executive of a major corporate organisation or a senior Minister’s Department, therefore, being proactive and thinking ahead are key elements of this role.

Applicants must possess significant and proven experience of providing support to senior individuals at Board level in a large and complex organisation. Applicants should also be able to exercise discretion, develop solutions to complex problems, work as part of a team as well as manage a team and evidence their ability to collaborate effectively across a large organisation such as the University.
